I can't imagine not knowing someone in my fraternity, it just doesn't make sense. Don't you all in large chapters find it odd that you don't even know your own sisters? I think the main issue here is not so much to do with size, but rather a fundamental difference between fraternities and sororities. Thanks to those wonderful NPC anti-hazing rules we all love so much, new members of sororities aren't required to come to the house all that much. And a lot of them don't. All the guys I know in fraternities are expected to be at the house much more than in sororities -- and that's true for both new members and sisters/brothers. When someone isn't around much, you're less likely to know their name.
