This is somewhat away from the real question but...
While I find Sorority rush incredibly hectic, and way too stressful (It's good to be a guy...

) I do have to say that in a way it is a big positive that girls have to meet with all (or a vast majority) of chapters. I think we all know that girls tend to be slightly cliqueier than guys in general and that without having to see all the houses they would limit themselves to only ones where they knew someone.
From my own personal experience I know that coming from out of state it might have been nice to actually met with all the houses in a more formal setting. Like everyone (I imagine) there was a period where I wondered what it would have been like if I had pledged XYZ or EF, particularly with the houses that I just randomly skipped over during informal rush.
As for the other aspects of the structured rush, I'm interested to hear possible reasons.
