Some more, since before I only listed current injuries, lol

7thgrade--sliced into my thumb with a blade that I was using to try and peel up some contact paper in a drawer in our new house--you can still see the scar.

9th grade-- while practicing dance routine and jumps and kicks for cheerleading tryouts, I did this twisty jump thing we needed to know how to do for tryouts and miscalulated the distance to the living room wall and banged into it and broke my big toe. Tryouts were 2 days later, all the girls and all the judges knew about my toe, so everytime I did a jump and landed the whole gym groaned, but I never broke my smile and made the team despite the toe, or perhaps BECAUSE of the toe!

Homecoming week-- came running out of the gym after practice to get to class, I was late-- and tripped and went flying on my face--sliding across cement in senior hall on my face. Lovely.

Summer after 9th grade-- at cheer camp--Cheering on a field at UCSD, did a jump, one foot hit solid ground, the other hit a hole in the grass, twisted my ankle.

10th grade-- at cheer practice, practicing a kick and kicked so high I threw my back out.

11th grade -- was at a party, a bunch of us were sitting on the back of a couch--everyone but me had been drinking (I was driver that night) and the couch tipped over and all the drunks got out of the way quick enough but not me, it landed on my ankle and bruised the ankle bone, ouch.

12th grade - basketball season. Practcing a half time routine that involved simultaneous back handsprings. Um, mine didn't make it and I landed on the gym floor knees first -- ended up w fluid on my knee.

Related to above -- doc put me on Naprosyn, which made me dizzy as hell, and as I was preparing to HOP down the stairs to my next class I got so dizzy I blacked out and tumbled down the stairs--luckily no new serious injuries, but lots of bruises. To this day as soon as doc says are you allergic to any meds I say NAPROSYN IS EVIL. lol

College-- various drinking related injuries--some really world class brusies. A few Ski related knee injuries. Memorable fall down the front stairs right before a rush party--rushees were literally standing out side the door and I go head over heels tumbling down the stairs. SIgh.

1992-- KILLARNEY ROSE, this will sound familiar-- I had just started my new job, had no health insurance yet. Got home from work, was cutting a piece of bread w a regular old dinner knife. Bread was hard, I was applying considerable force-- knife slipped, I cut my index finger clear thru at the joint--almost cut it all the way off. I almost fainted when I saw it. But it didn't hurt--I had cut the nerves too. NO one else was home from work yet, I was calling and leaving messages all over town, I DID NOT want to go in an ambulance and as I drove a stickk shift and it was my right hand, there would be no dirivng myself. So off to UCLAs ER we went. They did a GREAT job reattaching my finger though it did take about 10 hours and my friends were stuck in the waiting room watching the Olympics. I was wearing my USC class of 91 t shirt when this happened--so the docs did give me crap for that! LOL That scar is buried in the joint and hard to see, thankfully--and now, 10 years later I have gotten SOME feeling back in it.

1994 on way home from a Christmas party with then boyfriend==party was around the block from his place in Venice Beach--so we were walking, we were WASTED and I slipped and hit the cement with my bottom-- bruised my tailbone and could not sit right for literally YEARS.

1996 -- running, tripped, twisted knee, tore miniscus cartilige. Crutches for a looooong time

1999 -- Car accident 1/25. Weather was rainy. I am a HORRIBLE weather driver. Rear ended a Cherokee with my VW. I was probably going 40. I broke my wrist when the airbad deployed and threw my wrist at the window at 200mph. I also fractured 2 ribs and my collarbone-- ALL FROM THE AIRBAGS.

2000- Christmas Day. At my aunt's house. Taking a family photo. Wall Candle Sconce thing. My waist length hair. Hair caught fire. I am walking away from scene of photo--smell that funky something HUMAN is burning smell at same time I catch my reflection in glass of picture on wall and see my back on fire. Well, I'm not feeling anything and since I know from previous experience that if it doesn';t hurt its BAD, and it doesn't occur to me its my HAIR, I am all trying to take my sweater off by peeling it off my shoulders because I knew if my sweater was on fire and I took it off over my head, I'd catch my hair on fire-- well all this took place over about a 2 second period and my cousin Tommy started patting down my back w a napkin and put my hair out and then i realized it was my hair. DEVASTATION insued. 5 inches gone from a chunk in the back and my back was burned too. Hair has grown back nicely and this Christmas if there were candles on the wall, my hair was in a hairclip. LOL

And now the present injuries--the elbow, shoulder, toes and HUGE BRUISE on my derriere.

These are just off the top of my head--that's the sad part!

I am a hazard to myself sometimes! And yes, my family calls me Grace too--for my lack of it!
