How about a tropical theme - you could talk about the traditions of any tropical area - Hawaii, Tahiti, the Carribean. This would be perfect for your backyard.
For example if you choose Hawaii, you can talk about the significance of leis (this can be easily searched online) or the history of hula or Hawaiian royalty. My sister performs hula at luaus, which are fun during the summer.
