I didn't like the dance team outfits posted because I agree that they were ugly, rather than immodest. ETA:the college dance outfits, not the Ohio State ones. A couple of the Ohio State ones are immodest.

But they don't seem to match what I think of college dance teams wearing at games when they perform. If I remember correctly the UGA team wears black spandex-y type pants and a red UGA fitted- maybe kind of sparkly-shirt. (I realize that sounds wretched, especially to you Auburn fans).

Whereas the photos in the link seems way more what high school flag corps wear. ETA: really just UCF, Auburn and Ole Miss in review. The others seemed either too ugly to be used for anything or about right for a college dance team.

We actually have a law in Georgia about lewd dancing that makes chaperoning high dances particular interesting.

About OSU: I think that the campus standard for the event is probably most important in determining "appropriateness." While I might prefer that it be old-fashioned costumes and Broadway-type dances, if this is the occasion where they break out of their stereotypes and go crazy together, that could be fun too. You just wouldn't want your group to be Pussycat Dolling it up while everyone else was all Riverdance. (ETA: At OSU, not all of them we inappropriate in any area: dress, moves, whatever.)
