Greek Unity
I think that nothing bad can come out of African-Americans, or any group of people working together towards the common goal of improving our communities. I have been guilty of assuming negative things about a certain organization because most of the members I have observed in public (including on GC) don't exhibit enough class to merit all humans with the basic dignity and respect that they deserve, especially their own African-American sisters. That's not right, but I am working on it because one of my closest friends is a member of this group.
I also try to treat people with respect because I serve a God who does not care how many pearls and rubies we wear.
Think about it. It really does not make any sense for anyone to ever feel entitled to be rude to others because he or she belongs to a certain org. Are we not all human? Did not all of our founders face the same humiliating social circumstances no matter how much money they had or how light their skin or how long their hair? If the lynch mob came around, they would not have cared whether our founders or their kind wore pink, red, pure white, royal blue or gold. Maybe some day others will get it and live up to the most noble intentions of their founders. I am proud to say that the vast majority of my sorors do.
