Alpha Omicron Pi was founded at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York City on Jan 2, 1897.
Unfortunately in 1913, Barnard decreed that initiations into fraternities were to be suspended for 3 years. So by 1915, all the groups, including AOII, had graduated it members, and our Alpha ceased to exist....
On the bright side, by that time, AOII had 16 chapters around the US by then, but Alpha is still close to our hearts
