I think you meant "Apocrypha." Those were books that were kept out of the Bible because the Council at Nicea (I know that's misspelled) couldn't agree on their provenance. However, many of the stories in the Apocrypha create the basis for many traditional beliefs in both the Catholic and Orthodox Christian Churches.
