VLS was the first time I'd stayed at the hotel for the entire time, so I also ran into the "don't know my roommate" dilemma. I met my roommate the morning after I got in (flying cross country, I took some Tylenol PM to help with a headache and also to go to bed early and adjust to East Coast time more quickly
) and she was great!
I look at it this way - it's a great chance to meet someone new that I otherwise (in all the festivities) might not have met during the gathering
