It's really not that serious and I've found that people voice their opinions more freely on message boards simply because they can and no one will really police them. In person the situation would of course be handled much differently and with much more regard. That's why people constantly make comments like "It's just a message board" because it is and nothing that happens on a message board should be taken so seriously that you actually stop posting and communicating with others especially when you can only benefit from continuing. Although I do understand that it's only natural to feel personally attacked since words can cut rather deeply even in cyberspace. Good luck to you, continue to post where you'd like, and I'm sure you'll find that not everyone is against you.  |
