We are like the black Brady Bunch. He had a son and I had a son and daughter before we married. I was really overprotective of my children and weary of beginning relationships because I didn't want my children's hearts to be broken. Awwwwww......this just made me cry!!
This probably isn't the nicest, but it's the first one that comes to mind: A guy bought me books for my birthday. I know, it sounds so simple, but books mean so much to me, and the fact that he understood and respected that was very touching.
I also remember another incident with a former co-worker. I had just become a Delta. She was from Sweden and knew nothing about fraternities, sororities, BLGOs, or anything of the sort. The only thing she did remember is that my sorority collected elephants. Well, I came to work one day and she gave me a small silver elephant charm that belonged to her grandmother. I was so touched I cried right in front of customers, lol.
