So, it is my understanding regarding animals that lack "fidelity" and have sex with any and everything, like Chimps and Dogs, have sex that way because they are trying to ensure to promotion of their genes. The males want to make sure their genes are transmitted. As far as the females go, it is a non issue to them. They have an estrus cycle without a sense of "morality".

However, there are animals that "mate for life". Like a shrew and a sea bird. These animals, if you put them with other mates, will NEVER mate. Occassionaly, the mice will do the same thing every now and then. Never mate with a different one.

But as far as STD's. Well, Chimps are the major vector for the first strain of HIV-1 that then mutated to HIV-2 and possibly HIV-3.

But, I don't think most people absolutely WANT to transmit their STI to others, most people don't know they have a STI until it is actually something like HIV infection and they come down with something huge.
