IMO, it's not the religious beliefs that are a problem, it's the scientific ones. And when they're interfering with science in schools and with regards to local, state, and national policy, it becomes everyones problem.
Believe it's literal if you like but don't come to school and demand that evolution stop being taught. Keep relgiion out of the science class.
