My chapter told a slight twist on the peanut and olive story....it was a rush party and the refreshments were lifted by pranking frat boys...the sisters were horrified to find their goodies gone,and their party potentially ruined... but in the spirit of Gamma Phi pride pulled themselves together and served the only things they had, peanuts and olives, as if they had planned it that way along. The party was so gracious and classy that all the invited guests accepted their invitations to pledge Gamma Phi Beta.

I love sorority folklore...even if there are embellishments along the way. it's all in the best tradition of American tall tales!
