I read
The Giver for the first time when I was 7, and it went waaaaaaay over my head (looking back, what was I doing reading such a deep story in 2nd grade???).
But it was in the car on a family road trip and I finally picked it up again when I was in undergrad. Shoot, I was crying by the end of it!! It is so good! I can't believe it's taken so long to get a movie underway. (

My only concern is that it is the type of book that can easily be Disney-fied and turned cheesy. Let's hope not *Crossing my fingers*.
