In male folklore there is a saying: Look at the Mother!
Because that is what your GF will turn into later in life.
That is supposed to encompass both looks and personality.
So if the mom is heavy . . run.
If the mom is evil . . . run.
I have actually known guys to mentally erase their GF's as marriageable after meeting the Mom.
