I'm not sure that I totally buy into that. Networks are more about green than black in some cases. The Flavor of Love franchise (as hot trash as it is), has been quite lucrative and that's why VH1 keeps churning out the various off shots. Network television isn't an altruistic endeavor, it's about money.
