Same thing happened when I sat on EC as an advisor. One of the senior girls convinced her roommate to rush and pledge, and at this time Flo was about 25. While she was great during her NM Education and got along fine with her NM class, she did a total 180 once she was initiated. The girls she hung out with in the chapter were all graduating and she had no reason whatsoever to stay active with the rest of the chapter. She gave us hell because she wanted to be granted alum status even though she technically wasn't eligible for it, but in the end it was easier for us to just give it to her we didn't have to put up with her crap.

I think navane would be another good person to ask about your friend's situation.
