The orgs on my campus have made a point of celebrating Founder's Day and I felt this question was a relevant one for such reason.

It was brought to my attention in a private message that organizations have deadline dates o submit certain information. I was aware of this but was not aware that this was standard during the time of the creation of the Divine Nine orgs in the early 1900s.

As far as everyone getting their feathers all ruffled, well that just goes to show it may be more to it than you are willing to admit.

First of all EVERY ORGANIZATION celebrates their FOUNDERS DAY so what was your point?!?! This does not happen on just your campus but campuses and chapters (collegiate and alumnae) world wide.

Second of all the "HOOPLA" that you are referring to is really not all of that. The first few responses helped you correctly identify the dates of the organizations you are accusing of "maliciously" making their FOUNDERS DAY close to the AKAs Founders Day.

Now in the interest of maintaining PEACE on this board, if you have further questions about the "maliciousness of founding dates", please ask someone on your campus. You know FACE 2 FACE.

As far as applications being given deadlines, that happens all the time. For example, you applied to college right?!!? Or you file taxes every year?!?! Now I don't know about you, but I had "DEADLINES" to submit my applications and my taxes. That being said, once I turned the applications in and filed my taxes, I had to wait for the corresponding colleges and IRS to respond. THE RESPONSE, APPROVAL, ACCEPTANCE, REFUND happened on the RESPECTIVE OFFICES' own timeline. Hence, drawing a parallel here since I was not around in 1908, 1913 or 1920, I am postulating that once the respective FOUNDERS of aforementioned organizations filed their paperwork, they had to WAIT FOR APPROVAL and once APPROVAL was given, that date (OUT OF THEIR HANDS) was henceforth and FOREVER MORE their FOUNDING DATE.

**special note, my caps are emphasis**
