Napoleon Dynamite is a really quirky film...it's supposed to be a comedy but it's very dry. It's still a really good film.
Veronica Mars is my all-time favourite show. It's in its third season now. I absolutely recommend both, but especially VMars. Napoleon Dynamite just so you know what the hell I was talking about. Hell I think I still have it on my computer after downloading it from somewhere. If you're got the HD space, PM me with your email and I'll zip it up and send it to you. That way you don't have to pay for it.
If you've got Netflix, rent season 1 and 2 of Veronica Mars. I can assure you you will be hooked in the first episode and try to watch it all in the span of two days (like my oh so masculine boyfriend who also loves VMars. It's the chick show guys love to watch

EDIT: don't judge the film before you've watched it. You can say it's stupid after you've seen it :P
