I know this discussion wasn't meant for me to join but I would like to say something if I may. Sista BLUTANG, although I respect your opinion and the way that you were raised, I disagree. There are songs out there by brothers talking about uplifting the black woman by artist like Tupac, Ginuwine, R Kelly, Stevie Wonder and I'm sure there are many more. Besides their mothers and wives DO represent black woman. I believe that as a race, we don't give each other enough props. Not for doing what you are supposed to do, but doing it against the obstacles that this society has set for BLACK PEOPLE in general. And why are y'all hatin on Alicia Keyes? A young black woman who has the talent to WRITE HER OWN MUSIC! She composed the songs that she sings. I like her music. It's people like Destiny's Child and Mariah Carey that I don't get
