A good description can be found here. My dad wasn't one of the originals, but he was part of the 2nd generation that took over as the original boys started to retire. He hung out with the legendary Duke Kahanamoku on a regular basis and if you go to Duke's Restaurant in Waikiki, you'll still see pics of my dad and all his homies from the 60s/70s.

I remember going to see Don Ho's shows as a kid and I knew that he was Dad's good friend, but it wasn't till I was much older that I realized how popular he really was around the world.
