I had mine out junior year of high school. I had nitrous oxide and thought the oral surgeon was the funniest guy ever.
I don't remember it being painful, just lots of pressure as they were being removed.
My dad came with and drove me home (it was in a city 30 minutes from where we lived) and I was out of school the next few days. I don't think I had prescription painkillers or anything, just took advil as needed.
