After closing four houses the University may start to think like this: The greeks are a pain in the ass. If we can close them all then we can get rid of the position of greek adviser and then we'll have $50,000 to spend elsewhere. We've already closed four, how many more to go? Hmm, wonder if the city zoning board could help us?

Closing houses might make you feel good and smug for a while, but look at the impact on the local system; if they were behaving poorly then that is what the public will remember, not all the good things that our guys did. We are a minority that must constantly justify our existence to college administrators and city officials who would like to be rid of a real or perceived problem. And the universities and cities hold most of the cards
The city has already changed the zoning at all of the former greek houses so that they may no longer be greek houses. Sadly greek advisor only gets paid around $26,000 and the position demands a masters degree, poor girl. Greek system still alive and well at UTEP, the city it self can careless about Greeks. But greeks are the only student organizations that do anything on our commuter campus. Kappa Sigma has come back on campus, and the greek system recently added Phi Delta Theta and a bunch of multicultural groups no one cares for and will probably fold by year end. Phi Delts have been talking a lot of trash about our chapter as of late, look for them to be closed down soon! Sig Ep left overs still trying to come back on, but have been unsuccessful. We are still the top chapter on campus, and looking to clean up all awards at the Greek Banquet. Greek Week this week is looking good for another championship.

By the way Ceasar, the TKE threatened me at soccer for touching him when I made a play for the ball as goalie. He threatened to get his gun out of his car, what a loser, glad they're gone they were a joke. Zeta's sold there house last fall, and are currently looking for a lodge instead of a house so that their insurance is less. SigEp closed for excessive debt to their headquarters in 2004, owed in excess of $16,000. Our chapter is no longer in debt, and will be having a formal in May, let me know if you are interested in going.
