ASUADPi brought up a good point. I teach 8th grade and we have some students who have actually aged out of the system. There are several students in my class who are 16 already! They should be 13 or 14. It is quite possible that these 5th graders were older. There is a 6th grader who is 11 at my school and pregnant.
I am not really sure what the solution is, but we definitely need to provide more classes geared towards sexual awareness or whatever.
