Good topic, Tonya! Speaking from personal experience, when I transfered from the University of Arizona to SF State, the only sorority on SF's campus that I had heard of was Alpha Phi. So before I went to recruitment orientation, I will admit that in the back of my head I knew that Alpha Phi was going to be *up there* in my list of choices.

But when I started rush, Alpha Gamma Delta blew me away. They were my first choice throughout the whole week. By pref night, it didn't really matter much to me that I had never heard of Alpha Gam before.

Soooo...to make a long story short, we may not have the 'name recognition' of a DG or a Chi-O, but I don't think that it matters much. The ladies who want us do so because they love our sisterhood, our purposes, and our values. Honestly, if someone was preffing us solely because of 'name recognition,' that is not the kind of girl I would want joining us in the first place.

Jack-in-the-box, engagement ring...call it whatever you want to. I'm just glad I found it!
