Okay, I'll say up front, what I'm about to mention is really gross: but since we don't know whose poo it was, some situations are a little less completely incomprehensible why she might not have gotten punished more severely. I have no idea what really happened and if you know more, please tell so I can understand it more.
Here's one of my "why she didn't get fired on the spot" theories: If she had cleaned up poo related vandalism multiple times, and was in the act of cleaning it up when on of the vandals returned, and in a fit of anger, threw poo back at one, well, it's not acceptable, but it fits the description of being at her breaking point and snapping.
Similarly, if the kid she threw the poo at wasn't involved in depositing the poo, but happened to enter the story in some minor trouble at about the point that she was dealing with someone's else's poo, . . . it's gross, unacceptable and worthy of punishment, but maybe not ending her career worthy.
I'll be honest but fortunately this doesn't come up a lot for me, I'd try to give people dealing with other people's poo a wide berth. They are probably so disgusted as to be at least someone irrational.
