No, this is about a 50+ plus year old man with a wife and three young adult offspring attending a nice gathering, having his picture taken unknowingly and then having it show up on the internet.
Not everyone is into the internet and they don't know about the prevalence of pictures be posted.
The question I asked is should party hosts inform guests that pics will be taken that could end up on the internet.

Were the pics taken by event photography or some random taking pics? If it was a random, there's no way for this "your pics will be taken and posted somewhere" disclaimer to be given when applicable.
I just think it's strange when people post pics of events. Why not just post pics of themselves at the event? Why post pics of others (unless it's event photographry and from the event website, etc.)?
