I don't know how much this would impact the problematic campaign finance issue (because $$ is entrenched in American political system) but I do think this is a good idea -- because it's another avenue, potentially exposing more people to the political process, giving more people the chance to "tune in" and get involved.

This may slightly retard some of the monetary influence, but I don't think we'll ever get totally away from it.
