I really liked that Soul Food, Bling, Being Proud of being Dumb, and Ward Connerly were on the list! One point that one of the panelists made about Bling was something along the lines of the worst you can do to impoverished communities when you have them focus on jewelry even though you're up in the projects. They also touched on Colorism in the community and used the Brown Paper Bag test as an example of it.
They also stated Flava Flav as this generation's buffoon, what I found most ironic was the music videos and hollywood portion, they showed a picture of the director of "Soul Plane", when they just finished showing that movie before the program And I am shocked BET decided not to call themselves out during the music videos portion but did show videos that aired on BET Uncut...hopefully this program is a segway for better, positive programming on the channel.

I saw bits and pieces of it...I was too busy watching "The Agency". From what I did see, it looked pretty interesting, finally! Black America has been misshaped every since our ancestors stepped off the ship. Point blank.
You brought up a good point though about BET not calling themselves out during the videos and all that crap. They have a nerve! How ironic.

Ugh, I have so many opinions about this, I don't know where to begin!
And by the way, what in the heck is "Soul Plane" anyway? I was watching that foolishness last night, and had to turn the channel. Can we get some quality movies on BET please? I mean, it IS Black history month (although we should celebrate it year 'round.) But still though...
