So I just purchased "Freshman Focus" from Amazon. I also went to your website and read your bio! WOW.....it's amazing how we have the SAME interests in books and we were raised the same way!!! When I was on punishment, my mom took away my reading privileges as well, and I was just S-I-C-K!!! Actually every Christmas, when I was younger, I didn't want dolls, toys, etc...I wanted BOOKS BOOKS and more BOOKS!!!! My brother use to call me a nerd, because I loved books, and wanted to be the NEXT Ann M. Martin, Francine Pascal, or Judy Blume, AND/OR I wanted to be an opera singer...Definitely something that wasn't the norm in my community at the time.

I LOVE me some Judy Blume and Encyclopedia Brown. This past Christmas on ebay, I came across someone who was selling their ENTIRE Sweet Valley Twins/Babysitting Club/ collection and I just HAD To get it! Girl you can only imagine my how my husband looked when I opened up the box and saw the books! He was like

I started reading them all over again, and was getting chills because it brought back SOOOOO many memories!
I gave my original collection away to a library that we started in my old neighborhood when I was a freshman in college. There were a lot of kids that didn't have transportation to the library but wanted to read. So me and my childhood friend started a library in the basement of her mom's old house. We even created library cards for them to use. It was mixed emotions I tell ya....part of me didn't want to give away my precious books, but a HUGE part of me was happy that I was able to donate them. I was TOOOOO thrilled when I found them on ebay, because I want my *Future* daughter to have the same experiences that I had growing up...
I can't wait till I get it in hand!!!!
If I can support Francine Pascal, Judy Blume, Donald J. Sobol, Ann M. Martin, and many many others.... then I can DEF add my soror..Carla R Sarratt to the list! I can't wait for your next book. From there, I pray that I can build a Carter G. Woodson High School collection!!!!
