I wasn't clear I guess... he had made a point of committing to me as my boyfriend, not just as some random girl.
After saying it, he realized how bad it sounded and tried to backtrack, in the end we had a laugh out of it and ended up staying together for over a semester... but I always gave him grief for that one comment
