Ex-Marine Convicted Of Cell Phone Assault
INDEPENDENCE, MO-An ex-Marine who had served in Iraq was convicted Saturday of assaulting his girlfriend by shoving a cell phone down her throat. 
Jurors found Marlon Brandon Gill, 25, guilty of second degree domestic assault after deliberating for 12 hours but couldn't reach an agreement on sentencing.
Gill faces up to seven years in state prison when he's sentenced by Judge Michael Manners after a pre-sentence investigation is conducted. He has already served over 400 days, incarcerated since his arrest on Dec. 23, 2005.
This happened over a year ago, but this morning was the first time I ever heard anything about it.
