Tau Kappa Epsilon and U. of South Alabama Suspend Chapter

Tau Kappa Epsilon HQ and the U. of South Alabama have suspended the Teke chapter “during an investigation into a student’s ruptured spleen.”

Excerpts from article:
. . . Kevin Mayeux, the chief executive officer of the national fraternity, declined to release the name of the injured student but said the student was a "recently initiated" member of USA's chapter of the fraternity.

He is "undergoing treatment and surgery" for his injuries, Mayeux said.

. . . [the] vice president for student affairs at USA, said university police are investigating the ruptured spleen as part of a hazing ritual. . . .

I hope the treatment and surgery are successful and the student makes a full recovery. Best wishes to him, his family and friends at this difficult time.
