I was never a member of either of those organizations. I had friends who were and they rarely talked about it, nor do I recall them participating in a ton of events/projects/etc. I think if you're into being involved in student orgs and want to continue that into law school then go for it. One piece of advice I received from an attorney who does recruiting for my old firm was that if you're in bunch of organizations in law school, they know you're just doing it to pad your resume. It's not going to effect your job prospects unless you are super involved and even then.....actual work experience is the most important thing. The time would be better spent volunteering at a legal clinic or something equally related to your long term career goals. Hope that helps.
