As a summer job one year I worked for the major company that is hired to take calls for those infomercial products . . . including Time Life and the Girls Gone Wild videos. Those videos were the number one drunken purchase that I took calls for. We would also take some credit card applications over the phone (I worked 11pm - 7am) and I would always wonder if some of those people would remember in the morning what they ordered or applied for. Company policy was that if they're capable of giving you the necessary info then you place the order, regardless of the state a person is in. It wasn't as bad as telemarketing but still not a wonderful job
So next time you make a drunken call to order a product be nice to the operator, they've probably had a really rought night
