There were huge problems in the 1970s with Greek systems across the country. This was an era of social upheavel. Campuses were beginning to be integrated. Students were staging revolts. It was the time of "do your own thing" and non-conformism. Students made fun of the greeks. Membership in sororities and fraternities dropped, many chapters closed (including mine
), and some schools closed their Greek systems.
