Honestly, if you have "dirty blonde" hair as they say I think you can pull it off. Any darker hair its hard to pull it off without it looking fake.
My hair is dark. So for me even to go a little light looks bad! I would never try blond.. I could do red before that because I red undertones in my hair.
I honestly know very few real blondes. I know a lot of dirty blonde girls that have gone lighter. Also some people whos hair was blonde as a child (hair got darker as they got older) can pull it off now.
