Listen - you have 6 months to "dispute a charge" on most major credit cards - I know this because I have to keep all of the cc receipts for 1 year for my business - also people have disputed charges (usually businesses) after 6 months and I had to come up with the signed or approval name for the receipt - if the business is out of business then your cc company will usually be able to follow up on the company and charge in question.

So, I don't think it is too late for you. However I of course do not know the whole story so the above is an uninformed analysis.
