A warm summer day WeLcOmE, (in the middle of a very cold winter...), to all newbies!!! (((hugz)))
@ Dzdst796: Good question and good point.
This: “I will just say this be careful not to confuse confidence with arrogance.”
… is very critical.
@ 3strikes: I like your screen name. Girl, I agree with you wholeheartedly!

I do my research.Online and offline. So when someone shows interest in your sorority, discretion is important but confidence is everything.

I was even told that I should keep it to myself and just show my interest by attending their events. I guess I am just wondering for the young ladies that are attempting to become members through a graduate chapter were ever schooled on being discreet about their interest.
Just a question not trying to hurt anyone's feelings.

I believe that since people don’t fully disclose their identity, they feel “safer” talking about any and everything, thinking that they’re still being discreet, not realizing that there are ways that your identity may be revealed if you’re not careful enough. Although, there are some who are exceptions to the rule, because they may be a little naïve and just don’t know better , until they’re taught better. (I'll admit I use to be naïve at one point, just not on GC. I learned better before discovering GC.) Then there are some who just don’t care (Don’t know what to say about them, I can’t identify).
Initially, it was my intention but when I but after an extended vacation in Lurkville, I guess my focus changed and I realized that I love reading random spurts and opened letters, LOL! They pick me up after a long day. There are some really crazy and cool people on GC, greeks and non-greeks! Personally, I guess I just chose not to chat about anything Greek, although this is GREEKchat. I just like being in the company of people who are educated and care about the same things I do, and share some of the same interests. I will admit that there were times that I wanted to share exciting and/or disappointing news, or just get a better understanding, advice, and guidance with some experiences that I had to grow through, etc. etc… But in the end, for what ever reason, I guess I just chose not to.
