If you watch the DVD with the commentary, they reveal so much of what they were trying to put across on film, but that hopelessly fell flat on the audience (like foreshadowing Jack's demise twice - once in the coffin at the beginning, and once when he fell in the grave during the wheel scene). I thought given the time of that movie, they could have saved the subtle gestures & just spelled it out for everyone.

I haven't watched the commentary but just the other day I was watching the movie again and I thought about the foreshadowing of Jack being the coffin and the grave, but the thing is I've now watched the movie like five times now. Some people just get foreshadowing right away, some don't (for heaven's sake my mom still finds "something new" in Independence Day and how old is that movie now? LOL.)
