I concur on LA. I was actually pretty excited about it my first time there (I was considering abandoning my legal hopes and going to music production school at Belmont---dodged a bullet...) but was stunned at how little there is in LA. Other than narcissism, theres not much LA can claim as its own. For a place with such little power they sure are fond of themselves.
My favorite parts of California were San Diego and Mavericks. I actually thought San Francisco was a pretty interesting place, but I'd probably jump into the bay if I had to live with all the idiotic residents.
