My freshman year, it was just a completely different world from high school and I wasn't prepared...no excuses, just a fact and now am just trying to get my GPA back up. Studying more is one of the obvious, but I guess I mean mentally too because I'm just so pissed at myself for letting it happen because I was such a good student in high school... Thanks for your advice in advance!
Does your school have some sort of "freshman forgiveness" program? My school had one and basically if you got an E (thats what a failing grade was) during your freshman year, if you retook the class and received a better grade, the bad grade is erased, and it's as if you never failed the course.

But other than that, I would suggest you spend more time at the library rather than trying to study at home or in the dorm, and try to schedule classes next semester (that are needed) that you think you'd perform well in. It's much easier to build your GPA in the first 2 years so if you do well the next few terms you should be fine. Hope that helps.
