Yes, I was going to say that too but didn't want to make my novel longer and didn't know quite how to say it. You hit it on the head. Just because you have been at Good Ole Boy U since Washington crossed the Delaware or had homecoming queen for 60 years running, doesn't mean your chapter couldn't use a kick in the ass. And it's the smaller, less prestigious chapters that often pay the price.
And NEVER pass up the opportunity to use the word "malaise." (That was a Jimmy Carter-ism, wasn't it?)
