On a very very cold Tuesday night, January 10th, 1899 in the upper east dormintory of 504 East Locust Street, 5 men, Joseph L Settles, James C McNutt, Clarence A Mayer, Owen I Truitt, and C. Roy Atkinson founded the Knights of the Classic Lore, which later became known as the fraternity of Tau Kappa Epsilon.
