The fact that you're saying this means that you're not a materialistic bitch. Friends make more out of these situations than the people involved actually do - it's just kinda the nature of relationships. You're going about things the right way, and your boyfriend understands and appreciates that. As far as the other people telling you stuff -they're not you, so tell them to mind their own business.
