It's all part of her PR plan. The whole trailor trash thing she was doing a few months back was an act. She did it so that it would look like a comeback (and boost album sales) when she lost lost and dumped Kevin. Looks like it's happened. I believe I called this a while back in another thread.

Regarding her "comeback"...
I wonder what kind of appeal she'll have with today's music fans. The group that idolized her in the late 90s have since grown up. While artists like Christina and Jessica also had the same fan base back then, it's obvious that their talent appeals to a much wider audience.
I can't say the same thing about Britney, though.
