As far as grants / scholarships for grad school, did you fill out the FAFSA (federal financial aid form) and submit that? that should be your first step. Secondly, did you inquire at your schools financial aid office. Many times, as was the case with me, there might be some funds allocated to minority students providing that they have submitted the necessary, sometimes extra paper, paperwork that the fin. aid office requires.
Finally, if your in the NY area, I know that my grad school offers a good non- profit grant writing courses that I plan to take (it's a key part of my major). The only thing is that I think it's only offered during the summer . . . I hope that it was somewhat helpful . . .sorry i'm not a grant writing expert.
