Good point but none of those groups changed the game on a larger scale whereas West Coast gangsta rap did (for better or for worse). Bay area artists always claim to have started slang and be the first to do crunk before it was called crunk, but no one outside of West Coast cares about those claims and black people all over the country pretty much do the same thing but in different ways.
My friend asked why they haven't honored 2 Live Crew.

If they honored 2 Live Crew, they would have the crowd p-poppin on a handstand, but I think a lot of people would boycott. But there's a hierarchy and chronology that (I hope) they are going based on for their honorees. Can't honor everyone that put out some live albums--that would mean rinkydinky artists would have a leg to stand on--but rather go based on their impact on the game. So if 2 Live Crew gets honored, it needs to be in the same show as people like Ghetto Boyz then I guess they would eventually honor the newer school artists like Big, Pac, and Jay Z (BLAH @ Jay Z

). I wonder if they care about Queen Latifah.
