Just responding to a few things and I had an idea.
First, I know some sisters who are in the Junior League here. Just for the sake of my understanding of the Junior League, let's say the names are Jane and Sue. So Jane has been in the JL for awhile now (her mom is in it). Sue is a recent graduate from the chapter Jane advised. From my understanding Jane had to recommend Sue to join Junior League and Sue had to be approved. If that is the case, it kind of reminds me of sorority recruitment or even AI membership and therefore you can't just say I want to join the Junior League.
Now I'm not a member. I've heard great things, I would love to learn more about it, but I've never been approached by any of the members. So obviously my assumptions are just that assumptions based on hear-say. If anyone is in the JL could you please PM me to clarify. Thanks!
Second, I got to thinking about the forum and I came up with an idea, which I am sure has been tossed around.
1) get rid of the forum
2) have sororities (who want to) put stickies on their forum page stating about AI. For example, ADPi we could copy from the official website which says we do it but implies that membership into ADPi through AI is something that the active sorority member is "responsible" for. The site then tells the actives where they can get information. So to me it says "yes we do it, but you need to be approached by an ADPi". (Which if we have to we could easily state)
Obviously this isn't going to work for everyone. The way I'm looking at it (which feel free to disagree) is like it being in our forum, ADPi's are the ones who can tell the person "I'm sorry that isn't appropriate" or "I'm sorry we don't do AI that way" or whatever. I don't know I'm just kind of rambling this idea out of my head.
I know some people would argue that the PNAI should be able to post her story (once she is an initiated member or received the okay to join) but she could do that in A) the general recruitment forum (although I get that AI isn't recruitment like formal fall or spring is) or B) post in the specific sorority forum. I'm sure the sisters would love reading the details.
I don't know.
I'm just trying to come up with ideas to aleviate (spelling issues) the tension that is going on right now.
It probably doesn't help that I just took my medicine so I'm a little loopy right now

So I apologize if none of this is making sense.
